Description:

ABOUT US

The Exclusion and Reintegration Team is part of the Access to Learning team which has a shared commitment to supporting all of Oxfordshire’s school-aged children. We work alongside schools, families and other professionals to support inclusion and reduce suspensions and permanent exclusions across the county. Our aim is to ensure all children receive their full educational entitlement.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking to recruit to the role of Exclusion and Reintegration Officer on a full-time permanent basis (however we are open to discussions around flexible working). Who will report to the Senior Exclusion and Reintegration Officer.

As an Exclusion and Reintegration Officer, you will be undertaking tasks such as:

  • Case work relating to children at risk of suspension and exclusion
  • Support and challenge Headteachers and senior leaders in schools to ensure best practice and inclusion for all children
  • Ensure all children have access to appropriate full-time educational provision and that time lost from education is minimised
  • Attend and prepare for In Year Fair Access Protocol Panels
  • To also attend various multi-agency meetings, often chairing and taking minutes
  • Act as a mediator between parents, children, schools and other professionals to enable improved and timely access to education
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of alternative providers and provision for children across Oxfordshire
