JOB DESCRIPTION

A new opportunity has arisen for a skilled Execution Engineer like you, to oversee and bring expertise to our team.
Rolls-Royce Power Systems is headquartered in Friedrichshafen in southern Germany and employs around 9,000 people. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

General

  • Responsible for the execution of all related technical application engineering topics for diesel genset enclosure solutions delivered for Malaysia projects.
  • Be at the genset enclosure factory in Malaysia to support system integration into the final genset enclosure as per customer requirements.
  • Be on site to support the system integration and installation of our genset enclosure and related systems to the plant.
  • Work closely with the regional and global team on customer relationship management for the key accounts.

Order Execution – PSB Engineering

  • Take over the order from the Sales and execute the technical scope with the Project Manager.
  • Provide the order specific technical drawings, technical documents, and technical manuals for the customer’s technical representatives. To coordinate and support successful plant integration.
  • Check and ensure the local team install our genset enclosure and related systems correctly, in accordance to prevailing standards and in accordance to agreed customer specifications.
  • Establish close working relationships with the various local stakeholders on site.
  • Work with the local suppliers on the order specific technical drawings and related technical documentations.
  • Raise the purchase requisitions for the local scope of supply.
  • Ensure the local scope of supply fulfills to the agreed requirements with the customer.
  • Manages the order with suppliers and contractors till all contractual requirements and obligations are fulfilled.
  • Work with the Project Manager to find the balance between technical solutions and project budget to address problems during execution.
  • Coordinate with local supplier and APAC hub on the technical solution to define a solution to the problem. Inform the project manager of the cost and the lead time of the solution.
  • Support the quality engineer on performing root cause analysis to major issue encountered during execution.
  • Support the Project Manager on the lessons learnt with the stakeholders.
  • Prepares and carries out technical presentations and training.
  • Familiarize oneself with the applicable international and in country (Malaysia) technical standards.

Working with internal stakeholders and suppliers

  • Be responsible to the APAC hub on the technical execution of the orders.
  • Work with the APAC hub on the order specific technical drawings and technical documentations.
  • Take part in genset enclosure FAT to understand the deliverables to site.
  • Align with APAC hub to value add on the best practice in technical execution to improve our customer experience.

Other Matters

  • Travels overseas on business, when required.
  • Updates oneself with the technical developments of the market and internal products.

Special assignment from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University / college studies in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
  • Experience in engineering genset enclosure solutions in the diesel engine/generator industry, min. 5 years.
  • Hands on experience on regional engineering project management, site installation, site supervision and commissioning of diesel genset.
  • Demonstrates good understanding of diesel genset mechanical systems related to an enclosure design.
  • Knowledge of switchgear and electrical power protection would be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of Asian cultures and business practices.
  • Good team player with proactiveness, good communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to travel. Mainly in APAC.
  • Proficient in English and Malay language, both written and spoken.
