Description:

We seek to appoint a highly experienced and organised Executive Assistant to effectively run the Head of Department’s office by providing excellent administrative and secretarial support.
You will be responsible for managing the diary of the Head of Department (HoD), making complex travel arrangements for UK and international travel and replying to a range of issues on behalf of the HoD. The post-holder should be proactive in identifying priority items of business for immediate attention, organising meetings/events/conferences held at the Dunn School as well as providing support for Athena Swan, EDI and Departmental Committees. You will be preparing reports and briefing papers for the HoD, providing full administrative support for financial matters as well as developing successful working relationships with academic and support staff colleagues across the department and in the wider University.
You will be educated to A level standard or equivalent and have previous experience of working in an administrative role. You should have excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and maintain excellent attention to details. You should be able to organise own work with minimum supervision and handle confidential information and manage challenging situations with tact and discretion. Previous experience of working in an academic or research environment would be an advantage.
This is a full-time, permanent position. If you are interested in this role, and have the skills and experience we are looking for, please apply online. You will be required to provide a supporting statement setting out how you meet the selection criteria, a curriculum vitae and the names and contact details of two referees as part of your online application.
Only applications submitted online and received before noon Monday 17 February 2025 will be considered. Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter
