Executive Casework & Information Disclosure Specialist

The team/department
In the Communications directorate at the FCA we change opinions and behaviours to enable a fair and thriving financial services market for the good of consumers and the economy. It’s an exciting time as we’re expanding our team and changing how we do things to deliver more engaging, insight-led, audience focused communications. If you want to be part of a supportive and fun team, work across a wide range of issues and are ready to be challenged, curious and creative then come and join us.
The Executive Casework Unit (ECU) oversee complex and often sensitive correspondence to the FCAs Chief Executive, Chair and the Executive Committee, including correspondence from Members of Parliament and other elected representatives. The ECU has a responsibility to present the FCA as a credible regulator by providing consumers and Members of Parliament with accurate and useful information in answer to their questions. It is vital the information shared is accurate, up to date and consistent with FCA official lines and therefore associates work with and engage various departments of the organisation to achieve this.
The Information Disclosure Team (IDT), based within the Communications directorate, is responsible for a variety of high profile and public facing work, including compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and other areas of information-based activity, such as compliance with the Environmental Information Regulations and the Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations.
As a public body the FCA is subject to Disclosure legislation. If we get things wrong in this area we could face damage to reputation, risk of fines from the Information Regulator (ICO), foster lack of confidence and diminish the FCAs authority to regulate, if cannot meet regulatory information requirements.
This role is a hybrid role, part of the ECU and IDT teams, working within the wider Communications directorate.
