Responsibilities
- As a direct report to the Dean, the CDO will have the opportunity to actively participate on the Dean’s senior leadership team, providing professional insight and advice based on extensive knowledge and experience.
- Drive the planning, budget and strategic direction of customized and comprehensive fundraising plans, oversee the implementation and management of all development activities, including timelines, budget, staff, and outside counsel.
- Manage a portfolio of high-impact supporters, solicit gifts, and conduct executive prospect strategy meetings with the Dean to maximize time with donors. Create robust and highly proactive major and planned giving programs, whereby progress can be measured quantitatively. Deliver on quantifiable goals, specifically excelling in successful major and principal gift solicitations.
- Establish and maintain strong and mutually beneficial relationships with external contacts and constituents on behalf of School of Civic Leadership and Civitas Institute.
- Establish and communicate fundraising goals, provide leadership on major gift cultivation and solicitation strategies, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Travel throughout the United States and around the globe representing the School and building relationships with its donors, prospects and alumni.
- Work collaboratively and proactively with Texas Development to further the fundraising efforts of the School of Civic Leadership. Create and nurture a culture of philanthropy within the School and its constituencies.
