Job Description
The Executive Director II position is responsible for administration of the YMCA Branch including fiscal management, financial development, and overall branch operation in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards set by the YMCA of San Diego County. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 4+ years’ of equivalent work experience
- 5+ years’ of YMCA Executive Director experience with 2+ years’ experience managing multi-site operations or equivalent combination of experience
- Multi-Team or Branch Leader Certifications preferred
- Knowledge of all aspects of operations, including effective staff supervision and development, successful membership practices, quality program development and implementation, volunteerism, financial development, and facility management
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for facility operations, both internal and external
- Proven track record for development and implementation of operating budgets
- Must have ability to develop strong, positive relationships with branch volunteers, business and civic leaders, and give dynamic leadership to board, staff, and community
- Requires ability to exercise appropriate independent judgment, to assess facts and issues, and make non-routine decisions regarding day-to-day operational problems and issues

Essential Functions
- Responsible for overseeing the operations of the YMCA Branch including serving as primary staff liaison to the Board of Advisors
- Responsible for a balanced operation, annual budget development, monthly budget monitoring and year-end forecasts
- Effective board development including recruitment of board members that represent the YMCA Branch and provides staff leadership to select board committees
- Develops and initiates Financial Development Plan to augment program offerings or develop and maintain top-notch facilities. Financial Development includes Annual Support Campaign, Special Events, Endowment, and Capital Campaigns
- Responsible for overall membership, program and community collaboration growth
- Effectively supervise and develop branch employees and volunteers
- Engage onsite partners to establish partnership alliance including ongoing communication and strategic alignment
- Effectively manages and develops a strong Board and Committee structure for the YMCA Branch
- Responsible for facility management and maintenance including maintenance and equipment replacement plans
- Actively participate in the City of Escondido community as the YMCA representative building relationships and rapport
- Represents and promotes the Y in the local community by developing strategic working and collaborative relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities
- Responsible for maintaining United States Lifesaving Association and Presidium Accreditations
- Maintain existing permits in Water Systems, Food Service, Swimming Pool, and HazMat
- Other duties as assigned

Required Certifications
- Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications
- CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:
- American Red Cross
- American Heart Association
- American Safety & Health Institute
