Description:
THIS JOB IS A TEMPORARY MATERNITY LEAVE REPLACEMENT.( 13 MONTHS)
The International Lounge Foundation (ILF) seeks an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as Executive Director. The ILF is a volunteer-led not-for-profit organization with a mission to conserve, curate and celebrate Gander Airport’s built and cultural heritage.
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the foundation’s operations, including strategic planning, program development, event management, financial management, fundraising, community engagement, partnership cultivation and management of staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for the arts and heritage preservation, and a track record of success in nonprofit management.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in heritage conservation, nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, including strategic planning, program development, event management, financial management, and stakeholder engagement.
· Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences and stakeholders.
· Demonstrated knowledge of arts and heritage preservation principles, cultural heritage management practices, and community development strategies.
· Strong leadership abilities with a track record of building and motivating teams, fostering collaboration, and achieving results in a dynamic environment.
· Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, donor cultivation, and revenue generation strategies.
· Significant experience in event management including planning, budget management, design, production, promotion, overall co-ordination and profitability of an event.
· Ability to think strategically, innovate creatively, and adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining focus on long-term goals and objectives.
· Strong computer skills including desktop design/publishing, spreadsheets, POS, databases, scheduling software, and financial/accounting software.
· Budget management skills including the ability to monitor and allocate funds as required.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as required.
· An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities:
(Including but not limited to):
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the ILF’s mission and objectives in alignment with the organization’s vision.
Program Development: Oversee the development and implementation of initiatives and projects focused on heritage preservation, public education, community engagement, and visitor experience enhancement.
Financial Management: Develop and manage the organization’s budget, fundraising and revenue generation strategies, and financial sustainability efforts. Seek funding opportunities through grants, sponsorships, donations, and other sources.
Partnership Cultivation: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Gander International Airport Authority, government agencies, cultural organizations, community groups, donors, and sponsors.
Staff and Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise staff members, interns, and volunteers. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Public Relations and Advocacy: Develop and implement marketing, communications, and public relations strategies to raise awareness and support for the organization’s work.
Board Governance: Work closely with the Board of Directors to provide regular updates, reports, and recommendations on organizational performance, strategic initiatives, and emerging opportunities or challenges. Facilitates board operations including meeting organization, preparation and minutes.
Operational: Oversee and manage the day to day operations of ILF owned and operated enterprises - Gander Goods (retail), The Globe Theatre, and Gallery ’59.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 13 months
Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
