QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum three years of experience in school improvement and turnaround processes
- Minimum three years of experience as a coach or mentor in leadership positions
- Texas Mid-management or Principal certification
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Extensive knowledge of school improvement initiatives, educational policies, and regulations.
- Expertise in curriculum, special education, multilingual education, career and technical education, advanced academics, and early childhood education.
- Proficiency in team building, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
- Competency in evaluating instructional programs, managing budgets, and personnel.
- Strong skills in interpreting policies, procedures, and data.
- Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software for school improvement and operations.
- Ability to lead and manage organizational change effectively.
- Skill in data-driven decision making to inform progress and strategies.
- Understanding of and ability to work effectively within diverse cultural and socio-economic environments.
COORDINATION WITH THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY (TEA):
- Act as a liaison between the district and the TEA to ensure compliance with state requirements and access additional support and resources as needed.

Responsibilities:
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Executive Director of School Improvement and Support leads the implementation of best practices and research-based strategies to assist schools identified as needing improvement or designated as Improvement Required (IR) by the state’s accountability system. This role also involves overseeing the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) across the district. The position demands a dynamic leader with exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of educational policies, and the ability to collaborate effectively with schools and district leadership.
The Executive Director of School Improvement and Support must act with integrity, support organizational goals, demonstrate the ability to inspire, grow and motivate others, utilize feedback, drive for results and commit to championing the needs of the students, employees and overall District.
