Description:

This is your opportunity to join the Department of State Development and Infrastructure (DSDI) to think ahead and act now to secure responsible economic development, safe workplaces and liveable communities.
The Strategy, Insights and Advisory (SIA) business group within DSDI coordinates all key matters across the Minister’s portfolio responsibilities and all touch points between the Minister’s office, the department and portfolio entities. Each team member puts the customer at the centre of everything they do and to actively seek out solutions that will help DSDI deliver on its targets. You will lead and contribute to a positive working environment and culture upholding SIA’s values of respect, integrity and accountability.
As Executive Director - Strategic Communications you will lead a team providing specialist advice and services to achieve the objectives of the department through the development of innovative, proactive media and communication strategies and leadership of the stakeholder relationships strategy and framework.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Lead the delivery of a strategic stakeholder engagement strategy and framework within a complex organisational environment.
  • Provide high level advice at an executive level, to key departmental stakeholders, including the Minister, Director-General and Deputy Directors-General, on issues and opportunities pertaining to the department’s reputation, and its engagement with stakeholders.
  • Develop a strategic and integrated media and communication function within the department, with supporting policies and frameworks.
  • Lead the development of the department’s brand, providing context and consistency to all communication messaging so communication tools contribute to the department’s strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the management and delivery of the department’s digital and web presence, ensuring compliance with the Queensland Government’s requirements.
  • Provide effective leadership and promote a positive working environment, culture, and professional behaviour that develops a high preforming team.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
