WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Extensive Executive Protection experience in the private sector, or at a senior level in the public sector.
- Previous experience of engaging with senior leaders, and ability to challenge when needed.
- Experience of using assessment tools to identify risks and of implementing strategies to manage risks highlighted in such assessments.
- Experience with residential security on a functional level, including formal assessments and deploying physical and operational security measures implementation
- Proficient understanding of the range of security threats EC members face, including the drivers for such threats and how they evolve.
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship management skills in complex and challenging professional environments.
- Proficient oral and written communications skills to succinctly report and advise on security matters.
- A pre-existing network of relevant external stakeholders (government, industry, law enforcement agencies etc.) is desirable.

Responsibilities:
- In liaison with internal stakeholders and external sources, identify, quantify and assess security threats to Shell Executive Committee (and selected) Board members (EC members).
- Ensure that appropriate local risk mitigation measures are in place in order to reduce exposure to security risks to ‘As Low As Reasonably Practicable’ (ALARP) and that fit-for-purpose security policies, plans and procedures are implemented.
- Implement and oversee security measures for EC residences, including management of third-party contracts, security system integrators and private security companies.
- Oversee the alarm response management process, and the escalation into Corporate Security and to EC members.
- Implement and oversee operational security measures to support the EC during travel and events, and complete security risk assessments for these aspects if and when needed.
- In liaison with local/site security management, ensure that the appropriate security barriers are in place and effective in EC offices.
- Work closely with Country/Cluster Security Managers and Real Estate Security to ensure a consistent, common, and adequate approach to EC protection.
- Develop and communicate response protocols for EC related security events. Effectively manage and/or support Shell’s ‘on-the-ground’ response to any EC security related incident.
- Establish external engagement on best practice with governments, law enforcement and private sector sources, supporting expertise and best practice.
- Ensure that EC security activities comply with international and individual country laws, especially with the Shell General Business Principles (SGBP), Ethics and Compliance, Code of Conduct and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR).
- Dimensions
- The EPM will be instrumental in supporting and advising the Country/Cluster Security Managers, Real Estate Security, and other Shell staff on EC related security matters.
- The EPM will need to maintain close liaison with the Secretary of the Board, PAs, IT Executive Support, EC drivers and other EC support staff.
