A pivotal interface for external talent into Tesco, you will be responsible for identifying, qualifying and assessing external talent for potential leadership positions across the business. Working in partnership with the Executive Resourcing Manager, Executive members, and senior business leaders in Tesco, you will be key in building strong relationships with high-potential, external talent both now and in the future. You will bring to life Tesco’s culture, values and strategic ambitions to allow external Talent recognise Tesco as an employer of choice. Furthermore, you will provide ongoing end-to-end support across live vacancies, ensuring our search partners and external candidates have the best experience of Tesco.

You will be responsible for

  • Identifying, engaging and qualifying external senior-level talent for specific search, mapping or talent pooling projects as well as speculative opportunities across the Tesco Group
  • Building pipelines and market maps of highly qualified ‘passive’ talent, segmented by company, sector and industry, that Tesco could refer to in the future
  • Producing full project reports and documentation for key stakeholders, attending key update meetings and presenting back with knowledge and credibility.
  • Supporting Executive Resourcing Manager on end-to-end delivery of senior appointments, deputising when required, continually positioning the team as expert partner to the business.
  • Acting as a brand ambassador, positioning Tesco to be an employer of for senior level, external talent; through illustration of our strategic ambitions, company culture, purpose and Win Together Behaviours.
  • Contributing to and supporting the development of new interventions and initiatives that address our search processes to make them as inclusive as they can be.
  • Developing pro-active tools and resources for Tesco Leadership colleagues, which could include (but not limited to) talent insights including geographical skills gaps and capabilities, org charts, cross-sector talent reviews, industry & company news, highlighting of new hires by competitor organisations and research for specific open opportunities.
  • Representing Tesco’s dedication to diversity, driving continued focus to ensuring we maintain high levels of diversity of candidate pools and shortlists.
  • Working collaboratively with other teams across the People function (Exec Reward, People Business Partners) to ensure exceptional client and candidate experiences.
  • Where required, support Talent & ER Associate with administrative duties related to search processes and mapping projects including status reports, candidate assessments and timely feedback to the executive resourcing manager and business!

You will need

  • Executive Search or senior recruitment experience, with track-record of delivering against complex, high-profile (and at times, confidential) research/resourcing briefs across a breadth of roles and functions.
  • Experience of mapping and engaging talent from a range of sources including social networks, conference speakers & attendees, industry news, referrals and other methods as appropriate. Strong digital sourcing skills using LinkedIn, Boolean, Google Search and other sourcing techniques.
  • Experience of building relationships with internal and external partners, using knowledge and expertise to build credibility and establish rapport quickly.
  • End-to-end project delivery experience, either an in-house search team or retained executive search firm.
  • Strong project management capability, self strive to generate and deliver resourcing strategies and adapting where required.
  • Ability to efficiently balance and prioritise multiple projects, communications, follow through, and candidate activities.
  • Ability to engage and qualify candidates based on skills and experience, against complex briefs. Data literate, with ability to interpret and provide insight to support resourcing activity and projects.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong respect for confidentiality.
