Description:
[What the role is]
As a statutory board and community institution, the Majlis Ugama Islam Singapore manages various funds to support the socio-economic and religious needs of the community – from fundraising and collections to investment of current assets and disbursements to beneficiaries. These funds are based on the values of self-reliance and sustainability to collectively build a successful and progressive Muslim community in Singapore.
The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in executing partnerships and programmes for Islamic Legacy Planning (ILP) initiatives within the Singapore Muslim Community, including in support of Wakaf Masyarakat Singapura (WMS). This position requires close coordination with government agencies and the facilitation of strategic partnerships to seamlessly integrate Islamic Legacy Planning into the broader national and Muslim community framework, ensuring its successful implementation and impact.
[What you will be working on]
- Identify, establish, and nurture strategic partnerships with government agencies, community organizations, and relevant stakeholders to support the integration of ILP and WMS initiatives.
- Conduct engagements with industry players on the development and implementation of WMS and ILP related products.
- Development of capabilities across the Muslim sector partners and widespread community adoption of ILP practices that contributes to WMS.
- Develop, identify and implement ambassadorship programme that will mobilize and galvanize the community to complete ILP and contribute towards WMS, ensuring widespread community participation and support.
[What we are looking for]
- Tertiary education in a relevant field such as Islamic Studies, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Relevant work experience will be advantageous (portfolio to be provided).
- Familiarity with the frameworks related to legacy planning and charitable giving in Singapore will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with Islamic Legacy Planning, including faraid, religious advisories, wasiat, CPF/insurance nomination, Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), and Advance Care Planning (ACP), will be an advantage.
- Experience in developing and nurturing strategic partnerships with government agencies, community organizations, and relevant stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, legal professionals, Malay/Muslim Organisations and the Singapore Muslim Community.
- Resourceful, energetic, proactive, results-oriented team player.
