About the role

  • Provide assistance to the Business Manager and Senior Finance Officer by undertaking a range of financial functions including those activities associated with the financial management of statutory requirements, financial analysis, budget development and reporting, accrual accounting processes and general ledger activities. The role is to be performed in a manner that promotes the provision of quality and timely financial information and advice to the Metro North Health.
  • Provide high level and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Business Manager.

About you

This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health’s values:

  • Provide high level and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Business Manager, including the preparation, coordination and distribution of agenda and other papers for meetings chaired by either party and collation of papers for meetings they attend. Additionally, you will be required to minute meetings, arrange venues, equipment, teleconferencing and follow up actions arising from meetings as well as researching and collating information, correspondence and material as necessary, including liaising with senior management groups and maintaining effective communication channels with various stakeholders and key clients.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the Business Manager daily activities through effective and timely diary management, including organising, co-ordinating and scheduling appointments and meetings, ensuring optimal usage of time and resolution of emergent issues.
  • Coordinate and manage the workload priorities of the Business Manager by developing and implementing appropriate administrative systems and procedures within the office such as establishing, reviewing and maintaining an effective office records management system for all documents, papers and correspondence.
  • Provide assistance with ad-hoc duties as delegated by or agreed with the Business Manager as required.
  • Assist in monitoring and advising on variations in expenditure, revenue, and activity, which affect budgetary performance and activity targets and the preparation of and finalisation of monthly service line and cost centre reports.
