DESCRIPTION

Morgan Stanley is seeking an Expense Manager to support Corporate Services’ functional groups. This Director will be part of the Expense Management team under the group Business Services and Innovation responsible to help drive and enable the department’s evolving expense management initiatives and objectives.
The Director will be part of Business Services and Innovation supporting Expense Management.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Governance and Policies & Procedures

o Drive effective general ledger hygiene to ensure appropriate flow of monthly expenses.
o Closely collaborate with the Finance division to drive appropriate controls and accounting of spend.
o Partner with the Finance coverage team to ensure divisional and Firm interests are aligned.
o Ensure divisional compliance with relevant Firm expense policies.
o Develop and maintain collaboration sites (i.e., Teams, SharePoint, etc.) to house key data and reports.
o Follow the cost governance process and provide oversight and guardianship towards expense management.
o Provide consistent governance across all functions regarding end to end budget process
o Proactively identify issues and opportunities within the functional area and present sound business recommendations.
o Evaluate business implications and outcomes on in-flight initiatives and requiring key decisions.

o Collaborate with the global COO finance team and support initiatives across the regions to enhance the overall expensed management for Corporate Services.

  • Budget and forecasting

o Work with the various Corporate Services functions to develop budget.
o Coordinate globally with other regional COO’s, and finance teams to finalize budget.
o Carry out regular forecasting activities Coordinate globally with other regional COO’s and finance teams to report against budget.

o Escalate and communicate appropriately on spending against budget and forecasts to management.

  • Tracking and Reporting

o Drive transparency and insights to internal clients and stakeholders across the Firm.
o Monitor financial performance, conducting variance analysis on expenses and external factors that could potentially impact ability to meet financial goals.
o Support the creation, review and editing of strategic materials or presentations.
o Analyze departmental trends relative to production and efficiency metrics.
o Create automated reporting views to aid in management of expenses and communicated results to the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2-4 years related experience in financial industry.
  • Possess specific experience of managing expenses is a plus
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to work at Morgan Stanley offices in Budapest.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Technology project management tools.
