Are you an experienced or aspiring Leakage Technician? RPS invites you to be part of an exciting new project with South West Water. We have openings for both seasoned professionals and trainees on a 6-12 month contract, with the potential for permanent positions.
The role is based in Bodmin and Cornwall, and we provide accommodation for those traveling from outside the area. This is a 40-hour per week contract, but we offer flexibility for this to be worked across 4 or 5 days.
Overtime is available at time and a half for evenings and Saturdays, and double time on Sundays. You will also be provided with a company van, fuel card, uniform, and PPE.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Water network experience (desired)
  • Competent technician with experience or understanding of correlation, ground mic, quantification, and step testing (desired)
  • Fully competent in utility tracing, noise logging and asset surveying
  • Competent IT skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EUSR water hygiene card (desired)
  • EUSR DOMS card (desired)
  • NRSWA Unit 2 accreditation (desired)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (required)

Responsibilities:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Leakage Technician you will conduct detailed investigations of the water network to identify leakage and unaccounted-for consumption, utilising equipment to pinpoint leak locations and promote repairs on both public and private grounds. Attend and support maintenance teams as needed, perform step testing and Pressure Zero Testing of the water network, and provide detailed reporting via data collection apps.

This role may involve:

  • Moving heavy items including inspection chamber covers.
  • Working in all weather conditions (this could include night work also).
  • You may be required to work in confined spaces and on highways.
  • Please note mandatory drugs and alcohol tests are undertaken for this role and a DBS check will be undertaken
