The recent acquisition of Air Affairs further establishes QinetiQ as a long-term, strategic partner to the Australian Defence Force and underpins QinetiQ’s strategic position as market leader in threat representation, training, test and evaluation. Headquartered in Nowra, New South Wales, Air Affairs provides targets and training services, and electronic warfare capabilities to the Australian Defence Force, in addition to aerial surveillance and reconnaissance in support of government firefighting efforts. Air Affairs owns and operates a fleet of special mission aircraft and maintains an advanced manufacturing and engineering facility providing design, manufacture and certification operations.
We are looking for B2 LAME’s or experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to support or ongoing aircraft operations.
As an experienced AME or B2 LAME you will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet or Learjet and King Air aircraft are ready to go wherever they are deployed. Our fleet of 20 aircraft provide support to both the Australian Defence Force and fire services across the country. We are looking for experienced AME’s looking to upskill to a category B2 Licence or currently qualified LAME’s looking for a new challenge.
Ideally you will have experience on the Learjet and/or Beechcraft King Air type aircraft and with a B2 rating. You will be joining a unique and self-sufficient team that support the fleet at home in Nowra and on deployment around the country and on occasion internationally.
As an AME/LAME in this team you will be responsible for;
Conducting Line and Heavy Maintenance
Rectifying defects
Completing engine replacements
Fault finding and rectification
Ensuring checklists and appropriate documentation is complete
Supporting the aircrew on deployment
Structural / Avionics upgrades and modifications
What you will bring;
A passion for aviation and commitment to a safety first environment
Experience from General Aviation, Charter Operations, Defence or Business Jets
A B2 Licence or extensive experience as an AME in a relevant environment
A willingness to travel for 1-3 weeks at a time a few times a year
The ability to live in the Shoalhaven /Nowra region or willingness to relocate

To be considered for this role you will need;
Strong fault finding skills and a wiliness to learn
To be an Australian Citizen and willing to gain NV1 defence security clearance
AME qualifications and extensive experience or a LAME B2 licence
