EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Any technical or trades qualifications/certificates, or training would be considered an asset
  • Ability to complete a criminal background check

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of manufacturing, aerospace, warehousing or construction experience is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication machinery
  • Ability to interpret and understand drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following all safety guidelines
  • Must have and maintain the ability to legally work in Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Study and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand assembly requirements
  • Utilize various hand tools, power tools, and machinery to cut, shape, and form sheet metal components according to specifications
  • Assemble sheet metal parts and components to create sub-assemblies or finished products, adhering to strict quality standards
  • Conduct thorough inspections of assembled components to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to aerospace industry standards
  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances, making adjustments as necessary
  • Safely handle and store sheet metal materials, ensuring proper organization and inventory control
  • Work closely with other members of the manufacturing team, including engineers and machinists, to achieve seamless integration of sheet metal components into larger assemblies
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment
