THE ROLE INVOLVES:

Our partner is expanding across the globe, seeking various levels of experience for their Java chapter. Within the Java chapter, the developers work on various Java projects across the globe, so this the ideal opportunity to collaborate with a global leader in finance in its digital transformation.

Examples of projects that are currently being undertaken:

• Migrating the exchange connectivity applications from on-premise platforms to a hybrid mix of on-premise containerization platforms (like Red Hat OpenShift) and serverless cloud infrastructure (like AWS ECS).
• Creating a future-proof client & regulatory landscape with many Java-based applications that require green-field & refactoring towards target platforms (as mentioned above).

This job description is set-up slightly more generic on purpose, so you’ll be able to see what various teams are doing and find a good fit based on your experience and preference.
Within the role of a Java DevOps Engineer, we seek multiple people that have worked with Java (or Typescript) before and know their way around AWS and/or OpenShift.
Setting up AWS CodePipeline or Gitlab pipelines should be familiar to you, as well as the networking components that AWS offers.
Java development experience is appreciated, as the teams you will be working in, will have Java as their main development language.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transform the current application from EKS to other services like ECS
• Improve CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with developers on software requirements
• Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible
• React quickly to feedback to continuously improve processes
• Informally train and share your DevOps knowledge within the team
• Build a bridge to the cloud platform teams
