Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Experienced Machinist (Level C) to join the Machine operations team based out of Helena, Montana, on the Weekend Day Shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm).
This is an exciting position that will require the candidate to set up complex parts with on CNC boring mill for boring operations. This position will require the operator to machine an array of different parts, all of which are titanium. In this role, you will also be a key team member in identifying problem-solving opportunities with the support of the overall Integrated Production Team.
This candidate is being hired to operate CNC boring mills on the third shift, but the position may be changed depending on business needs upon hire.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• 5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of experience with CNC machining in a production environment (i.e. CAM optimization, cutter tool selection, GD&T, and/or troubleshooting).
• 5+ years of experience with 5-Axis & 3-Axis NC/CNC Milling Machine.
• Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs; Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs; Occasional carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, walking, standing, balancing; Frequent reaching overhead and at or above shoulder; Frequent sitting; Frequent climbing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• Experience in problem-solving in a manufacturing environment
• 5+ years of experience setting up cutting tools and verification prior to work.
• Experience in a team environment.

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 5+ or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years’ related work, Bachelor, etc.).

• Performs machine set-up, machining, CNC operations, problem solving and understands technical requirements of machining titanium or other similar metals.
• Performs other fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Collects data and communicates well other teammates and support teams.
• Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests.
• Works on articles of high complexity following established drawings and requirements.
