3Shape is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced patent attorney to accelerate their career at a vibrant, and forward looking technology company. You will join our IP team in our Legal and Patent team that is jointly responsible for all matters relating to legal and intellectual property.
Your Role

You will have an integral part in advancing patent initiatives, focusing on mitigating IP risks, and capitalizing on patent opportunities within digital dental solutions and 3D optical scanner areas. This position offers extensive learning prospects with direct access to researchers, business leaders, and senior management. You’ll be entrusted with ownership and accountability for

• Collaborating with product development teams to provide patent consulting along the entire journey of product concept through development.
• Strategizing, drafting, and prosecuting commercially relevant patent applications.
• Conducting freedom-to-operate investigations.
• Monitoring and analyzing third party patent rights and activities to develop insights and support current and future product development efforts.
• Engaging with technical and business teams at all levels to support any current or potential confrontational proceeding.

Your Qualifications

The selected candidate must have a solid foundation and proven record in working with patents. In particular,

• You have a university degree in any of physics, software, optics, or electrical/ electronics engineering.
• You have several years of patent experience.
• You possess great interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver timely and practical solutions.
• You are curious, structured and can work in a dynamic environment.
• You are preferably a qualified or partially qualified European Patent Attorney.
