To reinforce our Insulation Innovation department in Tienen, we are looking for an Experimental Scientist to support our product development team.
The European Innovation Team is part of the Huntsman Polyurethanes Global Technology and Innovation organization. As an Experimental Scientist you will plan, contribute to and carry out experimental development programs required for the innovation of our Polyurethane insulation foams.

Additionally, as an Experimental Scientist, you will:

• Design, plan and carry out innovative experimental work as defined in Innovation projects.
• Analyse/interpret experimental results and contribute to report writing, including recommendations to support decision making.
• Develop appropriate experimental techniques to support projects.
• Communicate results and recommendations to the project stakeholders (e.g. commercial and technical service teams).
• Ensure full compliance with safety, health and environmental guidelines according to site and company standards.
• Recommend equipment acquisitions to deliver innovation programs.
• Support our Technical Service teams on urgent customer needs.

Requirements:

• Must have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Chemistry, any work experience in a similar position is an advantage. Knowledge in machinery/mechanics and/or previous work experience with polyurethane products is seen as an asset.
• A high degree of initiative, together with a positive, independent and self-managing attitude. You are curious for solutions.
• Strong analytical and innovative thinker who can work effectively as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team .
• A good team player, able to work in an environment with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
• Skilled and experienced user of a variety of IT tools and techniques in order to ensure efficient design, analytical and communication processes.
• Fluent in English, excellent verbal and written (reporting) communication skills
• Willing and able to occasionally travel (~10% maximum of the time) and should preferably have a driving license.
