As Owner’s Engineers, we are part of the Process Control Technology (PCT) department of our Engineering organization and are responsible for the implementation of PCT in our investment projects. We also support our plants with expert knowledge from various disciplines of PCT.
As a global Functional Safety Expert in our Instrumentation and Functional Safety (INFS) group, you will be responsible for developing global standards and supporting projects and plants in matters of functional safety. This way, you will make a substantial contribution to maintaining the license to operate of our plants and thus to our success as a company.

Your tasks:
- You develop internal functional safety standards that ensure a high level of safety and efficiency.
- You share your knowledge about norms, standards and lessons-learned on functional safety with our engineers around the world.
- You support our project and plant engineers, especially in the EMEA region, in the implementation of our functional safety concepts.
- You deal intensively with particularly complex issues in functional safety and find innovative solutions
- You work with our plants, suppliers and internal and external experts on the digitalization of functional safety
Your profile:
- Master-Degree in Automation / Electrical Engineering, Risk and Safety Management or equivalent, with an interest in instrumentation and process control systems.
- At least 3 years of experience with functional safety in the process industry.
- Experience with green- and / or brown-field projects and project management.
- Fluency in written and spoken German and English.
- Ideally knowledge of hazard and risk analysis and the application of functional safety
- Preferred: Experience in operations and maintenance.
- Affinity for writing technical documents, such as standards and specifications
