SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 10 -15+ years of experience in developing raw water and wastewater treatment solutions, preferably for the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical Industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in engineering, design, and operation of raw water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in raw water and wastewater treatment unit troubleshooting and start-ups.
  • Problem solving skills: Identify and implement improvements and apply broad technical and business skills and expertise to solve complex problems.
  • Technical leadership experience (formal or informal) in projects and/or operations.
  • Experience interfacing with operating organizations.
  • Engagement with external supplier/customer/vendor.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

WHAT ROLE YOU WILL PLAY IN THE TEAM

  • As an experienced environmental water engineer, you will be providing strategic, cross-functional and technical leadership in the areas of raw water treatment, wastewater treatment, and water reduction and reuse through all stages of project development and asset operation inclusive of support towards technology development.
  • You will be an integral part of our dynamic and expanding Environmental team based in Kuala Lumpur working and collaborating with our community of Environmental discipline experts and senior technical professionals around the world to deliver engineering excellence
  • You will discover and implement cutting-edge technologies for raw water treatment, wastewater management, and water conservation, uncovering opportunities for water reduction and reuse to drive forward our strategic priorities with innovative solutions.
  • You will also develop the capabilities of less experienced environmental water engineers within the technical discipline, fostering their growth and expertise.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • You will lead the development of strategies for water / wastewater technology selection in projects at oil and gas and petrochemical facilities that meet economic, sustainability, and reliability targets.
    o Contribute to project basis development.
    o Design water / wastewater treatment facilities.
    o Provide quality control during design and detailed engineering work undertaken by contractors.

o Support start-ups at new and existing facilities.

  • Lead in evaluation and development of raw water treatment, wastewater treatment, and water reduction and reuse technologies
  • You will lead troubleshooting and provide operating guidance in respect of raw water treatment, wastewater treatment, and water reduction and reuse technologies at Oil and Gas and Petrochemical facilities.
  • You will offer leading technical expertise when representing the Company in interactions with third parties and at external events (e.g. chemical supplier technical experts, equipment suppliers, industry or trade associations, joint ventures, etc.)
  • As an expert, you will provide management with understanding of technical and business risks associated with water treatment, reduction and reuse solutions.
  • You will also provide technical oversight for internal resources which includes technical guidance and mentoring to engineers working on water or wastewater-related initiatives for organizational competency development
  • Work visits to operating sites and other business travel may be required.
