Description:
Same, same but different: Beef + Lamb New Zealand is amplifying the way they do extension….what’s the same is their absolute focus on farmers and championing farmer excellence, what’s transitioning is their focus on helping farmers take supported learning journeys that will help them execute real on-farm change, and building a stronger collaboration across all stakeholders in the agribusiness sector to increase farmer levy value.
Critical to these changes is the Beef + Lamb New Zealand extension team and, as the Extension Team Manager for the South Island, you will be leading from the front, inspiring your team to collaborate, plan and deliver great learning that farmers can use in their businesses. So, if you’re looking for a new role, are used to leading a geographically dispersed team and have strong commercial experience within the agribusiness sector, please keep reading.
Day to day your work will be that magic combination of leadership and management: Ensuring your team are motivated and executing to their work plans, that regional farmer council are being heard and their needs are being met, and the quality of our relationships within the region is maximising the value of farmer levy payer and other stakeholder spending. You’ll be experienced in managing multiple projects and you’ll understand farmers.
Your KPIs will include return on investment for every levy dollar spent, farmer engagement and feedback from events and farm practice change. This is a leadership role that requires the full leadership behavioural spectrum, from deep care for people to a strong performance and results focus. With regular travel through the South Island and as one of only two Extension Team Managers, this is a career building job with scope to increase your networks, reputation and ability to deliver change.
