QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or similar area
  • Experience in event management
  • Experience writing for a range of channels including social media, media and web.
  • Experience working with media outlets and journalists
  • Experience in data analysis, monitoring and reporting
  • Experience using Google Analytics, CMS, and social media for work purposes
  • Understanding of SEO
  • Experience working within the communications, public health, community or government sectors is preferred

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The External Communications Coordinator reports to the External Communications Manager and provides a broad range of support to the External Communications team, and the broader Social Marketing & Communications team. This includes supporting the execution of media and social media strategies and events, creating engaging content, monitoring and reporting, and various administration tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinating the production of various VicHealth events including digital and face to face events managed in house or with external assistance
  • Developing content for earned and owned channels including social media
  • Providing support to develop and implement media relations and social media engagement
    About you: We’re looking for someone who is able to clearly demonstrate agility, initiative and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive and inclusive team. You will be a strong writer and storyteller and know how to create compelling content for different audiences and channels. You thrive working in a fast-paced media and social media landscape and can confidently manage competing priorities and deadlines.
