At Kimberly-Clark we spend millions of dollars with external manufacturing partners every year. Our Global Supply Chain External Manufacturing team ensures that we utilize thorough and efficient standard processes in qualifying new partners and managing our existing partner base around the world. This team’s mission is to provide innovative external manufacturing services and solutions to Kimberly-Clark Consumer businesses that will grow revenue and support operating profit improvement to enable KC to lead the world in essentials for a better life.
The Global Supply Chain External Manufacturing Analyst provides process building, sourcing, and manufacturing expertise for externally manufactured products. Excellent project management, LEAN systems and relationship management skills are highly valued. We use innovative thinking and analysis, and a passionate service orientation to deliver results to the consumers and businesses we support.
The primary responsibilities for the role include development, deployment, and maintenance of the processes utilized in external manufacturing, leading new continuous improvement programs to better meet the business/project needs, and driving insightful analytics across the breadth of ECM activity to enable improved value delivery. A structured external manufacturing management process is used to manage the entire contract life cycle from product concept initiation to supplier exit and this role will own that process and ensure its application across the ECM team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or a related discipline
  • 5 plus years or more of work experience in a supply chain, procurement, project management, plant or staff operations or similar role
  • Proven experience in driving analytics – extracting data from various sources, compiling to enable analytics, use of analytical software such as PowerBI, Llamasoft, etc., and creating and communicating summary insights and recommendations.
  • Process management experience.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement the standards for effective external manufacturing management. Document the standards and maintain them with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Work with ECM team members, Global Procurement, and other Supply Chain functions in support of the development of sourcing strategies for externally manufactured products which will best meet business needs at the lowest total cost of ownership.
  • Support the identification, evaluation and selection of suppliers that meet or exceed internal customer needs and consider all source-to-shelf costs and opportunities. Support Procurement’s external manufacturing-related request for proposals (RFPs), providing clear guidance and structure to the process as well as leading the analysis of supplier proposals.
  • Support the Make v Buy analysis process to ensure through assessments of supply chain options across the array to financial and non-financial aspects.
  • Lead the compilation and reporting of team and supplier KPIs and other performance measures in coordination with Global Supply Chain.
  • Lead or co-lead initiatives along with our external partners to eliminate waste and variability in the supply chain including planning, managing and implementing major projects in a repeatable process to realize results.
  • Execute benchmarking initiatives with consumer products peer companies to drive business-relevant improvements to K-C’s use of external manufacturing.
  • Coordinate required regulatory, social responsibility, quality, and internal control reporting and auditing of external manufacturers.
  • Develop and maintain a database of K-C owned assets at external manufacturers and ensure proper controls.
  • Develop and maintain a database of external manufacturer contracts and track key contractual elements.
  • Develop and maintain a database of external manufacturer capabilities in support of new product projects and FEI investigations.
  • Participate as needed in special projects, team and organization-building initiatives.

TOTAL REWARDS AT KIMBERLY-CLARK INCLUDES PAY AND A FULL PACKAGE OF BENEFITS THAT CAN BE TAILORED TO INDIVIDUAL NEEDS. THE ANTICIPATED PAY RANGE FOR THIS JOB HAS A RANGE OF $100,000 TO $135,000 IN ADDITION TO BONUS POTENTIAL. INDIVIDUAL PAY LEVELS WILL BE BASED ON MULTIPLE FACTORS INCLUDING, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, LOCATION, ROLE, SKILL SET, AND LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE.
