We are currently seeking an experienced cannabis manufacturing professional to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in extraction, manufacturing, production, proper equipment usage and safety protocols. This role requires a proactive multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining high-quality production systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business administration, chemistry, or related field. Experience managing a manufacturing operation within the cannabis industry is highly desired and considered a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing management role, preferably within the cannabis industry or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of cannabis manufacturing processes including extraction and refinement techniques as well as proper use of equipment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in using manufacturing software and systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Metrc are highly desirable. An emphasis on safety is required.
  • Thorough understanding of state and local cannabis regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and senior management.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products in a safe, compliant workspace. This role manages multiple departments and requires an understanding of how they work harmoniously.

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY

The Extraction Manager is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process from input biomass through allocation, hydrocarbon extraction, solventless extraction, refinement, post processing and infusion. This includes managing teams and departments, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and emphasizing a safe, collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the cannabis industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Production Operations: Oversee daily manufacturing operations, including extraction, refinement, formulation, and quality control of respective cannabis products.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, ensuring a positive, productive, and safe work environment. Work closely with the Finished Products Manager to understand production needs and to meet deadlines and KPI’s.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain strict quality control standards to ensure all products meet company and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance: Understand and maintain compliance with local and state regulations, the company handbook, and other directives, as necessary.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of raw materials, lab supplies, reagents, solvents, and any other items necessary for manufacturing to continue. Ensure accurate record-keeping and communication with other departments.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure the manufacturing facility and equipment are maintained in good working condition, scheduling regular maintenance and repairs as needed. Foster an environment of cleanliness and safe working conditions. Lead by example.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production metrics, KPI’s, quality control, and operational performance to the Director of Operations and other senior staff.
