Due to expansion of our business, Blue Sky Hemp Ventures Ltd. currently has opening for several Extraction Operators at our hemp and cannabis extracts facility in Saskatoon. The Extraction Operator is an integral part of the manufacturing team, building and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement of processes, safety, and productivity.
Extraction Operators operate our extraction, distillation, and isolation equipment, producing hemp and cannabis extracts from biomass. They are responsible for the regular cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of the equipment in the facility.
This is a full time, permanent position, 40 hours a week, on a rotating AM/PM schedule.
Applicants must have availability that fits the shift rotation. This application is only for a two-week rotation AM/PM position (rotating 7am to 3pm for two weeks, then 3pm to 11pm for two weeks).

REQUIRED SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Reasonable physical fitness such that you can stand and/or walk for significant periods of a shift, and lift or manipulate processing screens, bulk bags of product up to 50 lbs, and/or attend to the physical maintenance of certain equipment.
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets.
  • Experience with cannabis, food, or pharmaceutical processing is considered an asset.
  • Skill and experience in reporting and interpretation of data (KPIs, production efficiencies).
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret SOP’s related to food or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Mechanical aptitude to perform routine tasks on equipment and troubleshooting is an asset. Strong organizational abilities and detail orientated, including thorough documentation skills.
  • Ability to perform a series of repetitive operations requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity. Must have sufficient range of motion with arms and hands to reach overhead and to the side, often repetitively during shift.
  • Acceptable results to a Criminal Record Check

    Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
    Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Director of Extracts Operations, Lead Operators, and Quality Assurance on all elements of hemp and cannabis extraction.
  • Work within a GPP facility. Produce and prepare extracted hemp and cannabis products as necessary to meet daily production demands.
  • Storing supplies, equipment, and disposal of waste according to Health Canada guidelines.
  • Operation, calibration and maintenance of the equipment and area involved in hemp and cannabis oil production.
  • Maintain the highest level of cleanliness/sanitation of equipment, glassware, and facility.
  • Maintain strict inventory records of all raw materials, chemicals, and equipment used in the facility.
  • Execute the extraction and processing of various hemp and cannabis products as per regulatory standards.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot operations to maximize efficiency, quality and yield while ensuring safety and reliability.
