About the Role
The Position
As part of the Global Payroll department, the Payroll Analyst serves as the firm’s subject matter expert for payroll processing in the Americas region as well as assisting with payroll in other regions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the processing of in-house, semi-monthly payrolls for both salary and hourly employees in a multi-state environment for approximately 2,000 employees
- Calculate overpayments or retroactive payments related to salary, overtime, or a change in benefits status
- Providing prompt and complete responses to employees and vendors on payroll-related questions
- Work closely with Treasury Department to forecast cash requirements to fund payrolls and ensure payroll funding is executed to payroll vendors and employees on time
- Work closely with global payroll colleagues, Global Mobility, and the Tax Department to ensure smooth transition of expatriate payroll for those going on or off assignment
- Lead the reconciliation of U.S. W-2s and other year-end reporting information
- Assist Accounting colleagues with questions related to payroll journal entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain configurations in Workday for taxes, earnings, deductions, general ledger mapping
- Suggest and discuss process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Notify management of errors and problems, proposes solutions, and work with management to implement solutions that balance the interest of employee and firm
Key Experiences and Qualifications
Candidates must have strong, polished communication skills, a strong desire to deliver impeccable customer service, and must be able to interact professionally with all levels of the organization. Candidates will also have strong attention to detail, basic project management skills, and the ability to multi-task. Must be able to prioritize assignments with competing deadlines, analyze complex problems and work independently at times. Specific qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Practical, hands-on Workday Payroll processing experience, preferably across multiple jurisdictions/countries
- Proven ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment
- Experience with Payroll-related systems (ADP, international payroll vendors, Office suite)
- Customer service orientation and ability to communicate with various levels of management
- Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working in an environment that has seasonal peaks and calendar quarter-end and year-end deliverables
