As a Sommelier Intern at Vila Vita Parc, you will immerse yourself in the art and science of wine service, learning from seasoned professionals and gaining hands-on experience with some of the most prestigious sommeliers in Portugal. With access to our expansive wine collection and the opportunity to collaborate with culinary teams across multiple dining outlets, you will refine your palate, deepen your knowledge, and cultivate your passion for wine. Your responsibilities will include:
Vila Vita Parc Branding and Commitment:
- Demonstrate a steadfast commitment to the values and mission of Vila Vita Parc, contributing to the preservation and strengthening of the brand’s reputation and identity in all areas of operation.
- Represent and promote the Vila Vita Parc brand in all interactions and activities, ensuring that our standards of quality and excellence associated with our resort are maintained and reinforced.
Wine Service:
- Provide guidance to guests on wine selections, offering recommendations based on their preferences, menu choices, and occasion.
- Observe wine tastings and educational sessions for guests and colleagues, sharing insights into grape varietals, winemaking techniques, and regional terroirs.
Food and Wine Pairing:
- Collaborate with culinary teams to create harmonious food and wine pairings, elevating the dining experience and showcasing the synergy between flavors and textures.
Cellar Management:
- Assist in the organization and management of our extensive wine collection, including inventory control and preservation techniques to maintain wine quality and integrity.
Guest Engagement:
- Engage with guests proactively, sharing stories behind select wines, offering cellar tours, and creating memorable experiences that foster a deeper appreciation for the wine culture.
Personal Competencies:
- Respect the rules of the establishment regarding personal appearance, hygiene, and the working environment.
- Be flexible and autonomous in your role, capable of adapting to changing circumstances and taking initiative when needed.
