The Role
We are looking for a focused, well organised, performance driven individual to join our team in the role of Forensic Structural Engineer based out of Thomastown.
You will need to be an experienced Structural Forensic Engineer with reporting to the Senior Forensic/Geotechnical Engineer.
We are looking for a talented individual with excellent client and staff communication skills. To be the right person you will have a sound engineering foundation and excellent report writing skills and you will back this up with your passion for forensic work.
You will be required to inspect and determine the cause of damage to structures / structural failure and produce forensic reports including scope of works for rectification and make safe.
This role will be supported by our structural engineering staff across all offices as well as our Principal Structural Engineers who have extensive experience in forensic engineering.
About You
To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

Mandatory:

  • 5+ years local (Australian) applied experience in a Structural Engineer role
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a forensic engineering role
  • Relevant site experience including investigation and subsequent report writing.
  • Design experience in timber, masonry, concrete and steel
  • Have an understanding of building movement causes and effects.
  • Excellent client interfacing skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a team environment.
  • Well-developed oral and written (report writing) communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness
  • Current Victorian/Australian Driver’s License
  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent

Advantageous:
Victorian Endorsed Professional Engineer Registration
Have good knowledge of soil types and behaviour (i.e., interpretation of geotechnical investigation and reports)
Desirable:
Construction Industry White Card
Eligible for Chartered Engineer Australia
