QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Education
  • A bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance, quality management, engineering, or a related field is typically required. A master’s degree can be advantageous.
  1. Experience
  • 3-7 years of experience in aviation maintenance, quality assurance/control, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or managerial role within a FAA repair station or similar aviation organization.
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations and standards (e.g., FAR Part 145, AC 145-9) governing repair stations.
  1. Certifications
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate preferred/ Singapore Aircraft Maintenance License (SAR-66).
  • Quality management certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) are advantageous.
  • Quality Management Auditing Certifications such as ISO9001 Lead Auditor
  1. Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of quality management principles, practices, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of quality assurance professionals effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with regulatory authorities, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

The FAA Quality Assurance Manager oversees all aspects of quality assurance and quality control within the repair station to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company standards. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems and processes that support efficient and effective operations while promoting safety and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Compliance Management
  • Ensure adherence to FAA regulations (e.g., FAR Part 145) and other applicable standards.
  • Maintain repair station manuals and quality procedures to reflect current regulations and industry best practices.
  1. Quality Management Systems
  • Develop and implement quality management systems (QMS) to monitor and improve repair station processes.
  • Conduct internal audits to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  1. Team Leadership
  • Lead the quality assurance team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization.
  1. Supplier and Customer Relations
  • Manage supplier quality assurance activities, including supplier audits and performance evaluations.
  • Interface with customers on quality-related matters, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any quality concerns.
  1. Safety and Risk Management
  • Promote safety awareness and compliance with safety procedures among staff.
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate quality-related risks and issues.
  1. Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quality assurance activities.
  • Prepare reports and metrics on quality performance for management review.
  1. Continuous Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and quality standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify opportunities for improvement.
