EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST – FABRICATION APPRENTICESHIP

We are seeking keen candidates who are eager to carve out a career in the Timber Industry, an exciting opportunity is available to join the Maintenance team as a Fabrication apprenticeship at Red Stag Timber Ltd in 2025.
Located 5 minutes south of the Rotorua CBD, Red Stag Timber operates Waipa Mill, New Zealand’s largest timber manufacturing site. With leading edge technology the mill is the largest stand-alone operation in NZ, producing structural timber for both the domestic and export markets.
This career path will provide specialized learning to become a L4 trade qualified Fabricator, and the opportunity to be involved in the site’s planned upgrades and expansion projects over the next few years. Skilled and trade qualified technicians have the earning potential of $80,000+/annum, and are highly sought after in many industries both in New Zealand and overseas.
Successful candidates will initially be employed on a temporary 3 month fixed term, as a fulltime paid Trades Assistant to ensure mutual apprenticeship pathway fit. Red Stag will be the ‘host company’ to provide support and continue paid fulltime employment as an Apprentice, with the view to achieve an L4 National Certificate in Fabrication. Practical learning on site will involve hands on work, mentored by our experienced Trades people. Apprenticeships generally take up to 4 years to complete.
