FABRICATION FOREMAN (STEEL) JOB VACANCY IN ROODEPOORT.

A busy stainless steel fabrication company is looking for an experienced fabrication foreman or workshop manager with extensive steel plate experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualified and trade tested as a Red Seal Boilermaker or Plate Welder or related would be an advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years’ post trade experience in a steel plate workshop is essential.
• 5 years’ experience managing a fabrication workshop with a minimum of 50 staff members.
• A proven track record of producing high quality stainless steel and carbon steel light to heavy fabricated components and equipment.
• Of sober habits.
• Own vehicle.
• Reside in or around Roodepoort.
• A stable work record and contactable references.
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to pay attention to detail.
• Able to run the fabrication site effectively.
• Able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrate ability to effectively identify, communicate and solve problems.
• Have strong leadership and management skills.
• Sound knowledge of ASME, EN and AWS manufacturing codes.
• Able read and interpret technical drawings.
• Understand ISO quality systems.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to plan and execute daily activities.

• To oversee the production plant.
• Responsible for the fabrication, welding, sandblasting, and painting division.
• Responsible for the quality control and liaise with inspectors of various clients.
• To ensure health and safety standards are adhering too.
• Responsible for the training and testing of welders and boilermakers.
• Responsible for the maintenance and care taking off all machinery and equipment.
• Responsible for expediting.
• Ensure all work instruction are followed and relayed to staff.
