Description:
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is named after Oliver McGowan, whose death shone a light on the need for health and social care staff to have better training. The Health and Care Act 2022 introduced a statutory requirement that regulated service providers must ensure their staff receive learning disability and autism training appropriate to their role .
Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust has a unique & fantastic opportunity for a well-motivated individual to join the Education Team. We are looking for a facilitating trainer to co-deliver the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training for Learning Disability and Autism alongside experts with lived experience, to our health workforce.
As a Facilitating Trainer you will have an understanding of learning disability and autism and are likely to have training experience. You will lead and support expert by experience Co-trainers who will be autistic people and people with a learning disability.
The post holder will assist in the operational aspects of service planning with the Education Lead for MaST provision.
The purpose of this role is to facilitate The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism training to people who work in health and social care. As a facilitating trainer you will have an in-depth understanding of learning disability and autism and are likely to have training experience.
You will lead and support expert by experience co-trainers who will be autistic people and people with a learning disability.
The post holder will work within their scope of competence, referring issues or training needs that they cannot deal with to the appropriate individual(s) within Education.
