QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree and two to four years of related work experience in an academic setting.
- Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English. Basic knowledge (Level 3) of spoken French.
- Good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to interact effectively with prospective, current, former students, alumni, faculty, staff members. In addition to internal and external departments and committees.
- Must have proven writing, analytical, and organization skills; the ability to work under pressure for extended periods, ability to take initiative, work independently, and also within a team environment. Proven experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure team environment.
- Excellent communication skills to conduct orientation and information sessions for potential and current students.
- Must have a proven ability to coordinate projects and work within strict deadlines.Ability to work extended hours outside normal operating hours, if needed.

Responsibilities:
- Support the Associate Dean and SAS manager in working on initiatives/projects to enhance UG student academic advising include but are not limited to compiling and improving processes in collaboration with SAS advisors and coordinators; developing and updating SAS onboarding and operational manuals; identifying, planning, and facilitating training/information sessions/workshops for department Program Assistants, UGPDs, and SAS advisors according to the rules and regulations of the School and University and in collaboration with the GCS SAS team and by liaising with various University Service Units.
- Ensure the consistency and up-to-date information on the SAS website related to academic regulations, curriculum changes, information sessions, etc.
- Make recommendations and actively support the development and implementation of strategies to improve communication with students, departments, and University to improve advising quality .
- Provide timely and appropriate responses to exchange and visiting students, regarding their applications, and transfer credit assessments.
- Present and handle complex requests from individual students to the Student Request Committee. Act as secretary to the Student Request Committee and handle all follow-ups on behalf of the SRC chair. Represent GCS at University Retroactive Withdraw Committee and attend monthly meetings.
- Administer, in conjunction with the Associate Dean, the Code of Academic Conduct for the Faculty including receipt of charges, correspondence, investigation, and other matters as required.
- Liaise with Enrollment Services and maintain active communication with students, departments and university services.
- Proactively counsel/inform departments, and the student population about academic programs, rules, and regulations. This includes participation in: Open House activities, Compiling, editing, and coordinating the curriculum letters to the undergraduate students at GCS, orientation/advising sessions, planning/facilitating workshops and special events.
- Represent the Student Academic Services team on various internal and external meetings and/or committees, which deal with advising and retention of undergraduate students.Perform other duties and provide administrative support as assigned by the Manager and the Associate Dean.
