POSITION OVERVIEW

Structured cabling Tech fulfil an essential role in the modern world by designing the complex cable plans for telecommunication systems, including the lay out structures for equipment installations as well as expansions for existing data systems. In addition, they solve technical engineering problems relating to cable systems.
There is a lot of scope within this field focused around integrating computer and internet networks with communications equipment.
Data Cabling Engineers are responsible for cable pulling and laying in a company. They are required to fix errors and rectifying them. These engineers may install fiber cables and networks according to company needs.
In addition to structured cabling activities, you will be asked to help support our Field Services team. In this capacity, you’ll be interacting with our clients and users at various locations across GTA and surrounding areas.
While at our clients’ offices, you’ll need to use your broad technical knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve user issues on a variety of devices – workstations, peripherals, networking equipment and servers. You will also configure devices, manage inventory, update documentation, and provide superior customer care to “wow” our clients.
You’ll have hands-on experience working with Windows 7/8/10/11, iOS, DHCP/DNS, Office 365 and more.  You will also have experience with troubleshooting/repairing workstations as well as deploying networking equipment and servers.

Responsibilities:

-Conduct a site check
-Collect customer data including cable containment information, outlet location, rack information, switch information and labeling requirement before delivering service onsite.
-Installing cables.
-Testing and terminating cables.
-Patching panels.
-Solving issues related to cables and networks.
-Finding errors.
-Creating wire maps (drawings) and reports testing, and troubleshooting of all network structured cabling media (CAT6,installation of CAT6A, fiber-optic, coax, etc.), A/V cabling, flat-screen monitor installations,
-IP cameras, and CATV systems,
-Mount face plates on surface mount boxes correctly
-Build closets (mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware)
-Route cable through data centers, buildings and workstations
-Test, adjust and troubleshoot equipment
-Provide appropriate customer service when responding to a customer request or fulfilling project requirements
-Will perform all other duties as required by departmental manager
