The West Vancouver Facilities & Assets Department is currently seeking a Temporary Full-Time Facilities Clerk to join our highly qualified team. This position will provide clerical support, perform receptionist duties and will exercise considerable independence of action and judgment in processing day-to-day matters. The ideal candidate will also deal effectively with internal and external contacts in processing a variety of inquiries and complaints and to provide a variety of information and assistance. They will also prepare and maintain agreements related to licences and leases for District facilities, lands, encroachments and foreshore; and download operating and capital financial reports for review.

Reporting to the Acting Directors, Corporate Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • preparing reports, maintain and update a variety of files, accounts and records in the Facilities computer systems
  • Performing receptionist duties for the Facilities department, answering the Facilities Help Desk phone line;
  • processing documentation that requires accuracy and attention to detail;
  • managing facility requests;
  • issuing keys, fobs and access cards for a variety of District facilities;
  • performing other related duties as required.

The preferred candidate will possess Completion of Grade 12 including or supplemented by commercial, bookkeeping and computer courses plus some related experience including general office, front desk, switchboard, or experience as a Clerk II; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of computer and word processing systems and databases related to the work. The successful candidate will be required to supply a Police Information Check.

Union WVMEA – Temporary Full-Time
Hours of Work:
35 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)
Rate of Pay:
$29.20 per hour. This position has a pay structure with five steps which increase annually.
