Position Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
Compensation: $46,800.00 per year
Reports to: The Corporate Services Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in facilities management, maintenance, or similar roles (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment related to cleaning and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY

The Facilities Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a welcoming, functional, and environmentally conscious workspace for staff and visitors. This individual is instrumental in upholding high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization while integrating sustainable practices into all aspects of facility maintenance and operations.
In this role, you will lead daily cleaning routines, perform minor maintenance tasks, and proactively address maintenance concerns. Your efforts will ensure the building operates efficiently and meets the needs of its occupants. You will also champion sustainable practices, such as implementing recycling programs, reducing waste, and supporting energy-efficient initiatives.
Additionally, you will assist with preparing and maintaining spaces for meetings, workshops, and events, ensuring all areas are well-organized and ready to support our dynamic environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily Cleaning and Maintenance
  • Clean and sanitize office spaces, common areas, and the Makerspace, including floors, surfaces, and high-touch areas.
  • Restock restrooms, kitchens, and break rooms with necessary supplies.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins, ensuring proper waste disposal.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or minor fixture repairs.
  • Conduct daily building inspections to identify cleanliness, safety, or maintenance concerns.
  • Organize and maintain storage spaces, ensuring supplies and tools are accessible and well-organized.
  • Receive and organize deliveries, distributing items as needed across the facility.
  • Prepare spaces for internal meetings, workshops, and community events by arranging furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Clean and reset event spaces before and after activities to ensure readiness for the next use.
  • Monitor the building for security concerns, such as ensuring doors are locked and alarms are set.
  • Maintain inventory records of cleaning supplies, office materials, and other essentials, submitting requests for replenishment as needed.
  • Respond to staff or visitor requests for assistance with workspace setup or general facility-related needs.
