KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience of Facility equipment – Compressors, Boilers, fire systems, Effluent Management, General building repairs etc.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrate a genuine appetite to lead activities to improve asset reliability.
  • Facilities or Engineering background essential.
  • Good communication and decision-making skills
  • Computer literacy essential Microsoft office
  • Ability to prioritise workload based on impact to site.
  • Strong organisational skills, ensuring all service reports are filed appropriately & available for regular audits. Service reports are reviewed & remedial actions planned in via facility action plan
  • Daily/Weekly contact with Engineering manager to review work plan but the person is expected to work off their own initiative majority of the time.
  • A hands-on approach, not afraid to complete various facility tasks & repairs

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong maintenance support in areas to improve safety, people, cost and service.
  • Ensure the maintenance and proper functioning of all plant facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems (Electrical systems preferred).
  • Drive improvements in maintenance performance and cost reduction through identification and implementation of best practice techniques and application of root cause analysis to develop long term solutions to chronic downtime issues.
  • Drive improvements through carrying out daily health checks and periodic condition monitoring on critical site service equipment.
  • Managing building access and security systems.
  • Ensuring the facility is clean, safe, and fully operational.
  • Support and in some cases lead improvement projects, from minor changes through to CAPEX justification and commissioning.
  • Using strong technical expertise, ability to priorities multiple tasks using own initiatives to sustain high reliability of all equipment and systems.
  • Deliver best practice contractor management and permit to work whilst ensuring contractors provide a service that is quality driven and value for money
  • Provide support to Engineering group to develop facilities functional understanding and skills. Provide support during factory operation, giving/receiving feedback on work streams, prioritising and managing expectations.
  • Identify, source and ensure availability of maintenance spares and contracted activities.
  • Provide ownership and support of own area for engineering shutdowns and start-ups.
  • Set up communications with site teams such that all works carried out fulfil the requirements of Environmental, Health & Safety, Food safety & Engineering
  • Carry out energy monitoring of key equipment, ensuring data is collected & entered into database
