HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT:

We’re looking for a motivated Facilities Helpdesk Supervisor with a sharp eye for detail and a talent for making a real impact and driving positive change. Ideally, you bring a mix of the following:

  • Solid background in facilities management, including help desk functions, in public or private sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a service desk team in a large organization.
  • Strong skills in negotiating, instructing, and maintaining relationships with suppliers, contractors, and customers.
  • Able to plan, prioritise, and handle multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Skilled in MS Office, databases, and help desk software.
  • Focused on improving performance through effective FM strategies and systems.
  • Flexibility of home working with trips to our London Bridge HQ.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead and Inspire: Manage a skilled Service Desk team, ensuring they provide exceptional FM support to both internal and external partners. You’ll be the driving force behind a service that keeps Southwark Council running smoothly.
  • Drive Performance and Strategy: Develop and design efficient workflow processes that capture critical financial information, support contract management, and shape our long-term financial and procurement strategies.
  • Operational Excellence: Take charge of the CFM service desk’s performance, overseeing everything from robust communication with contractors to ensuring our internal and external stakeholders are always in the loop.
  • Financial Oversight: With authority to approve expenditures up to £1,000 per transaction, you’ll play a crucial role in managing budgets and supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor and Manage: Supervise a team of three, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Utilize cutting-edge IT systems like Manhattan to ensure our processes are as efficient as they are effective.
