Purpose of the Job:
The Yard/Shop Maintenance Associate role involves a wide range of tasks related to the maintenance, transportation, and service of equipment, along with general facility upkeep and adherence to company policies. It requires versatility and a commitment to safety and customer service.
Specific Accountabilities:
- In this role, you will assist G-1 & G-2 Gas Technicians with occasional installation and service of domestic propane tanks for residential, commercial, and agricultural customers.
- You will be responsible for transporting propane tanks and cylinders to and from customer sites, ensuring they are delivered and retrieved as needed.
- Before propane tanks and cylinders can be used, they need to be inspected, tested and made ready for service. This task involves preparing them for safe usage.
- During the winter months, you will be tasked with clearing snow from the facility or areas where propane tanks are stored to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Maintaining the overall appearance and safety of the facility and its surroundings, including landscaping, cleanliness, and upkeep.
- You will be responsible for loading propane tanks and equipment onto trucks for delivery and unloading them upon return.
- When necessary, you may need to prepare trucks for repair or maintenance, ensuring they are in the appropriate vapor pressure condition.
- You may be tasked with transporting trucks to and from repair shops to ensure they receive the necessary maintenance.
- Tanks and cylinders that require refurbishing will need to be prepared for the refurbishment process, which may involve cleaning, disassembly, and inspection.
- Responsibility for draining residential tanks is a crucial safety measure and ensures they can be safely transported and maintained.
- You will be involved in the refurbishing process for propane cylinders, which can include cleaning, repair, and testing to bring them back to serviceable condition.
- Operating heavy equipment such as trenchers, backhoes, and loader tractors is part of your role.
- You will operate various vehicles including service vehicles and trailers.
- Keeping track of yard inventory, including tanks, cylinders, and equipment, to ensure that there is enough stock for customer needs.
- Responsible for auto/cylinder filling when required.
- Conducting daily inspections of the site to identify any safety or maintenance issues and addressing them promptly.
- Ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of buildings and structures on the property.
- Being flexible and willing to perform tasks as directed to meet the needs of the operation.
- Adhering to Primemax Energy’s established policies and procedures to maintain safety, quality, and consistency in operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- 2-3 years of experience
- Maintain a valid AZ Driver’s License
- Background Check- Provide Police Record Check
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Background check - must qualify to be bonded.
Working Conditions:
- Vary due to seasonal demand. Typically, 8:00 am-5:00 pm (Monday through Friday) However, may be extended during busy periods.
- Required work outdoors and be exposed to the elements (snow, rain, heat).
- Must wear company-issued clothing & PPE.
