MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced university degree in civil engineering, architecture or related fields.
- Seven years of work experience in facilities management, including maintenance contracts.
- Working knowledge (proficient - level C) of English and limited knowledge (intermediate - level B) of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
- Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions, is desirable.
- Length and relevance of experience in facilities management, maintenance and technical systems for very large office premises, particularly in Italy.
- Length and relevance of experience in managing complex structural issues of large buildings.
- Relevance of experience with the European facilities management environment, including knowledge of relevant laws also in the field of Work Safety and Security.
- Relevance of experience with procurement of outsourced facilities management services.
- Extent and relevance of experience in reading architectural layouts, interior design and maintenance related issues in large office buildings.
- Knowledge of the UN system rules, policies and practices related to procurement of outsourced facilities management is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge (proficient - level C) of Italian is considered a strong asset.
