Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and insightful Facilities Manager who values teamwork and inclusivity, with significant experience in health and safety management within the warehouse and transport sector.
You’ll possess a deep understanding of facility operations, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment methodologies, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
As our Facilities Manager, you will ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities at Portbury, including our coldstore Warehouse that runs at -23 degrees!) ensuring they are functional, safe, and compliant.
You will support our transition to new facilities over the coming years, driving cost-efficiency and aligning with our organization’s business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Management: Develop and implement strategies for effective facility management, optimizing performance and sustainability practices.
  • Financial Oversight: Create and manage financial forecasts and budgets, conduct cost-benefit analyses for improvements, and present well-researched recommendations to the executive team.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to address them, ensuring operational continuity and prudent use of resources.
  • Vendor and Contractor Relations: Manage relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring optimal service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure our facilities meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe and legally compliant environment.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and support a diverse team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Space and Asset Management: Optimize our workspace using the 5S methodology and manage operational assets to enhance productivity and safety.

Qualifications/Personal Qualities:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in Facility Management, Business Administration, or a related field (CFM, FMP, or similar are desirable.)
  • H&S accreditation, such as NEBOSH or IOSH

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in facility management
  • Experience/understanding of engineering principles would be an advantage
  • Financial literacy and budget management skills.

  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Negotiation, influencing and communication skills
  • Track record of excellent Health & Safety standards
