EXCITING OPPORTUNITY: FACILITIES MANAGER AT NORTHERN HEALTHCARE

Are you ready to lead, innovate, and make a real difference? Northern Healthcare is on the lookout for a dynamic and proactive Facilities Manager to take ownership of our facilities management function. If you’re passionate about driving improvements, creating safe and welcoming environments, and working collaboratively to deliver positive change, this role is for you!

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Facilities Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our spaces to the highest standards. This is more than just a leadership role—it’s an opportunity to truly shape the future of our facilities. You’ll work hand-in-hand with housing providers, operational teams, and health and safety experts to ensure our environments meet the needs of our staff and the individuals we support.
This is a hands-on role, so if you’re as comfortable rolling up your sleeves as you are strategizing at a high level, you’ll thrive here.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take Ownership: Lead all aspects of facilities management, from day-to-day maintenance to long-term planning.
  • Drive Excellence: Collaborate with housing providers and operational teams to deliver seamless maintenance and mobilisation processes.
  • Be the Go-To Expert: Serve as the first point of contact for property maintenance and health & safety matters.
  • Champion Sustainability: Lead waste management initiatives and environmental sustainability strategies.
  • Manage Budgets: Oversee facilities budgets, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality solutions.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including fire risk assessments, asbestos and legionnaires legislation, and statutory inspections.
  • Lead Projects: Oversee the mobilisation of new properties, repair programmes, and rolling maintenance schedules, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Build Relationships: Forge strong connections with internal and external stakeholders, including housing providers, suppliers, and landlords, ensuring processes align with our core values.

We’re searching for a passionate leader who can balance strategy with hands-on action. You’ll excel in this role if you:

  • Have exceptional leadership skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Are an expert problem-solver, able to stay calm under pressure.
  • Communicate effectively and build trusted relationships across teams and stakeholders.
  • Are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and quality.
  • Have a strong track record of managing budgets, suppliers, and compliance requirements
