As a Facilities Supervisor, you are responsible for implementing proactive maintenance strategies, coordinating closely with the Operations Team, and managing relationships with vendors and contractors. Your efforts directly contribute to the safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility of our operations, aligning with Quantum’s mission to lead in sustainable electronics recycling and IT asset disposition. This role involves comprehensive oversight of building maintenance, equipment repair, and system upgrades, with a focus on minimizing downtime, adhering to budgetary constraints, and extending the life cycle of critical assets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or significant equivalent experience
- Completion of courses in economics, analytics, business operations, and/or project management
- 3-5 years’ experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or supervision of trades resources
- Experience with maintenance ticketing systems and basic welding (MIG, TIG, Arc)
- Basic knowledge of building and maintenance management systems
- Ability to deploy systems and workflows appropriate to the scale of operations
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment
Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Equipment Management
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules while managing prompt repairs to minimize downtime.
- Use predictive tools to monitor equipment and preventing unexpected failures.
- Collaborate with teams to align maintenance activities with production schedules, optimizing repair costs and recommending equipment upgrades.
- Ensure availability of spare parts, manage external vendors, and oversee safety
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs and inspections.
Equipment & Operational Efficiency
- Track equipment inventory, optimize performance, and manage capital expenditure for upgrades.
- Provide training on equipment use and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Develop vendor relationships, stay updated on technological advancements, and utilize data to monitor and improve equipment performance.
Operational & Cost Management
Manage budgets, identify cost-saving initiatives, and optimize resource allocation.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs), drive profitability through efficiency initiatives, and lead contract negotiations.
- Mitigate risks, implement continuous improvement processes, and provide financial reporting.
Facility Management & Compliance
- Ensure the facility is well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and supports operational needs.
- Implement safety protocols, manage building services, and lead sustainability initiatives.
- Manage external service providers and maintain emergency response plans.
Cross-Departmental Support & Strategic Influence
- Ensure seamless operations by supporting department needs and proactively solving problems.
- Work closely with other departments, provide compliance guidance, and advocate for continuous improvement.
- Support cross-departmental projects and use data to inform facility management decisions, influencing best practices across the organization.
