Description:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary education in facilities management, engineering, security technology or equivalent
working experience required
Experience in project management required.
Certification in project management, security management, or facilities management preferred.
Experience in planning, renovation or construction in a healthcare environment considered an asset.
Knowledge of capital budget, facility design and construction processes an asset.
A+, Network +, Microsoft certified considered an asset.
Demonstrated ability to program/service the following: Video Management System (VMS), access control
systems, security databases, static security devices required.
Working technical knowledge of security systems networking required.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, building code, fire safety standards, accessibility standards and
security best practices in a hospital environment.
Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in the
organization.
Ability to support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in our
organization required.
Good attendance and work record required
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
Criminal Reference Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check recent within six (6) months is a
requirement
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee projects, minor renovations and building improvements within the hospital.
Develop project plans, timelines and budgets for minor facility related projects, while ensuring
minimal disruption to hospital operations.
Administrator for facility wide access control systems; parking system, and Video Management
System (VMS).
Planning, designing, testing, reporting, financial tracking and of facilities security systems (infant
abduction & elopement systems, card access control & video management systems, nurse-call
system, staff safety and parking systems).
Conducts security audits, risk assessments and incident investigations to identify risks and
vulnerabilities, recommend security enhancements, and ensures regulatory compliance with
healthcare privacy laws.
Plans, coordinates and schedules all resources necessary to carry out operational functions related
to facility maintenance activities and facility security infrastructure.
Supervises, coordinates and oversees the work carried out by facility contract staff to ensure it is
performed effectively and efficiently and in accordance to applicable legislation and safety
regulations.
Provides technical guidance, advice and assistance to facility contract staff as required.
Developing, demonstrating, standardizing, disseminating, and recommending best practices for
Facilities Security Systems & parking infrastructure.
Project management, capital planning, consulting, and verifications of implementations for systems
and or services supporting all areas of NBRHC.
Vendor evaluation, coordination, scheduling, delegating, and organization of outsourced services.
