Indaver leads the field in sustainable waste management in Europe. We deliver high-quality, cost-effective services in the municipal, industrial and specialist hazardous waste markets. We currently offer Total Waste Management and Waste-to-Energy solutions in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal, the UK and Ireland.
In Essex, Indaver is constructing the Rivenhall Facility, a cutting-edge waste management plant capable of processing approximately 595,000 tonnes of residual waste annually. The facility will generate enough electricity to power approximately 60,000 homes. As we prepare to launch, Indaver is recruiting 65 skilled professionals to operate and maintain this large-scale plant.
As a key front-of-house member of the Rivenhall team, the Facility Administrator will play a central role in supporting our daily operations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role offers a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting journey from the very beginning. You will be responsible for providing high-level administrative assistance across various tasks and contributing to the smooth and efficient running of our facility.
Role and responsibilities

All activities undertaken within the facility are executed in accordance with Indaver’s Integrated Safe System of Work and the protection of people, plant and the environment are at the core of every activity.

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures in relation to environmental requirements and ensure that tour groups also adhere whilst within the facility.
  • Provide a welcoming and friendly presence within the facility as the first point of contact that visitors and tour groups encounter.
  • Act as a key focal point within the facility for the management of facility small value contracts, such as office cleaning, stationary and promotional goods, etc.
  • Provide administration services across the facility on an as-required basis.
  • Provide co-ordination and reservation services in relation to the Visitor Centre and other facility meeting rooms.
  • Assist with the co-ordination and planning of company sponsored events and campaigns.
  • Assist with the co-ordination and delivery of the Community Benefits Scheme.
  • Coordinate the delivery of the facility training programme; liaising with vendors, arranging travel, booking facilities, etc.
  • Coordinate and book travel for facility employees and other Indaver and contractor personnel.
  • Participate in operational improvement projects that simplify, standardise or improve the visitor or tour group experiences within the facility.
  • Delivery of services within an Integrated Management System (IMS) environment where: products & service meet and/or exceed customer and regulatory requirement; and environmental objectives and compliance are delivered; and the working environment is a safe, healthy and energising place to deliver exceptional service. Always be on the lookout for alternatives ways of doing things that make operations safer, improves quality and efficiency.
  • Be aware of the impact that visitor, tour group and administration activities might have on the operational budget of the facility

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideally educated to NVQ2 level or equivalent, in an administrative, hospitality or events related area of study but applicable experience will be acceptable in lieu of qualifications.
  • Ideally, experience in a customer facing role with responsibility for planning and co-ordination of facilities or equipment.
  • Comfortable talking with small groups of visitors/tour groups and delivering visitor safety briefing would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Fluency with MS Office suite of products.
  • Ability to manage small scale administration related contracts
  • Attention to details and doing things right, first time, every time
