Description:

INDIVIDUAL PROFILE

  • Field engineering experience working in telecoms to include data centre or building environmental systems.
  • A knowledge of telecommunications and data networking
  • Experience of telecommunication cabling, fibre/copper patching and equipment installation.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with good organisational skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and able to resolve problems.
  • Ability to adapt in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Clean driving license
  • Good English written and spoken mandatory.
  • Good understanding of telecommunications: IP, SDH, DWDM, Infrastructure, OTDR testing.
  • Good understanding of all aspects of technical building construction and systems (power, airco, fire suppression, security) in the telecom environment
  • Prior experience in deployment of network infrastructure projects, facilities, and relocation projects.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety management
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software

Responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE

  • Reporting to the Manager of Regional Engineering UK.
  • Responsible for facility maintenance support, installation (own and customer related) transmission related platforms.
  • Customer order delivery and ongoing service management.
  • Support local network operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To build out the EXA infrastructure networks & facilities as required to ensure industry leading service performance.
  • To provide local multi-vendor telecom field operations and maintenance services, to ensure industry leading service performance.
  • To support and ensure a smooth customer experience in conjunction with the Pre-Sales, Service Delivery and Post-Sales teams for all regional orders.
  • Support the Network Operating Centre (NOC) as needed to maintain facility and network continuity.
  • To ensure that all design changes, works documents, new network deployment and customer deployments are executed as per design process.
  • To work with First Line Maintenance partners to ensure Preventive and Corrective maintenance is executed according to the required standard and per agreed SLA.
  • To work within the Regional Infrastructure budgets while continuously seeking cost saving and efficiencies across all budget lines.
  • To ensure good quality network as built design handover to Network Operations.
  • To assist NOC with escalations to local suppliers during service delivery and all operational stages when required.
  • As part of On Call support rota enabling 24x7 cover to fulfil operational activities.
  • Ensure suppliers work in accordance with local safety and security rules.
  • Support facility security and management of access control systems.
  • Carry out health and safety audits in office and data centres highlighting any issues to line manager.
  • Support EXA compliance team in maintaining office and facility security and quality accreditations.
  • Maintain accurate power and space capacity records related to the regional DC and Facilities.
  • Produce and maintain documentation and records e.g. DC project drawings, builds, contracts, floor plans etc.
