How you make a difference:
The Facility Coordinator, reporting to the Health Services Administrator (HSA) or Program Manager (PM), will oversee the seamless coordination of healthcare services on a daily basis within the facility, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to established medical protocols. With a primary focus on supervising the assigned medical personnel, the role will involve maintaining a high standard of patient care and promoting a safe and supportive environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily sick call, collaborating with physicians for non-standardized cases and promptly responding to emergencies or “man down” calls.
  • Coordinate with custody staff for daily scheduling to ensure seamless access to healthcare activities within the facility.
  • Supervise and schedule nursing shifts, oversee RNs/LVNs, and manage performance evaluations and training of direct reports.
  • Address and resolve grievances from persons served at the initial level and conduct Quality Assurance audits for continuous improvement.
  • Manage inventory, ordering of medical supplies, and actively participate in staff meetings, job shadowing during interviews, and orientation of new employees as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • Completion of an accredited school of nursing

Experience

  • Three (3) years of nursing experience
  • One year of supervisory or administrative experience in the nursing field
  • Previous correctional/detention facility experience preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • Current (and must maintain) nursing license in state of practice
  • Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
  • CCHP certification preferred
